HIT Camera

Here’s a fun cam! Mike Levy sent me this HIT camera way back when.

HIT Camera. Made around 1950.
Concerned about light leaks, I wrapped ‘er up.
The HIT, all decked out in Gaffer’s tape and ready for shooting.

She fits perfectly inside the box she arrived in, though I’m not convinced this camera originally came from the factory in this box.

I have a HIT knock-off (and have reviewed it). This actual HIT camera is quite chunky for its size. It has a bit of heft to it.

Though the fake HIT (right) is larger, it is made of a cheap, lightweight metal.

During Covid I bought one of those cheezy blood oxygen sensors. The kind you clip on your finger.

The case is the best part!

It fits the HIT camera perfectly. I now have a GREAT case that is ready to take on the elements.

I loaded the camera with some 17.5mm film that had been gifted to me during a PSPCS camera show not long ago. I just missed its expiration date of Nov, 1958 by only 64 years and 2 months but we’ll see what develops.

The  shutter setting is changed between “I” and “B” using a tiny screw. You can use your fingernail to tighten or loosen the screw.

Here’s a link to some good info on the HIT. You know? Different from the crap on this page.
