It arrived as a surprise in my mailbox. The timing couldn’t have been better! I was searching for the perfect camera to document the 2017 eclipse experience. Something somewhat technical and scientific-ish. I loaded her up with some Efke 400 which had expired in July of 2008. Fresh! Kinda. My choice of film was probably a mistake and I have to give her the benefit of the doubt because of it. The camera is cute, cute, CUTE and it looks quite attractive, dangling from its wrist strap.
The Just Ducky Character Camera.
As youbring your eye to the viewfinder, the little ducky is peeking at you.
The shutter button location isn’t intuitive. Often I found myself searching for it.
Packaging.
“big picture quality…” NOT A TOY!
Eclipse day was FANTASTIC!
Viewing the eclipse.
We went up to a place called Radar Ridge. An abandonned radar station.
Almost eclipsed. Can’t you tell?
I had originally thought we could sneak up to the top of this structure. Weirldly enough, it was being torn down the very day of the eclipse. What were the chances? It’s been sitting vacant for years and years. The crew didn’t even stop to watch the eclipse.
The camera is small and it’s easy to get your finger in front of the lens.
Ocean Shores on a different day.
To sum things up, the Just Ducky is a cute little plastic camera but in the end, if it looks like a duck and it smells like a duck, it’s probably just a duck.
The well dressed eclipse crew.
We ended up in the newspaper. Because we’re so interesting.
Because the other shots don’t do Erin justice. Ha!
